Getting started with Mid-Manager

Your first week. Connect Jira, set up your team, and build a daily clarity routine that replaces five tools with one.

What to expect

  • Day 1: Workspace ready, Jira connected, Today showing your first signals
  • Day 3: First 1:1 logged, action items tracked in Team Actions
  • Day 7: Focus Engine is calibrated to your team's cadence and priorities
  • Week 2: You stop context-switching — Mid-Manager is your single morning check
01

Sign up and create your workspace

Request early access at the link below. You'll receive a workspace link within 48 hours. No credit card required — early access is free and full-featured.

Tip: Use your work email so team invites and Jira connections work without friction.

02

Connect Jira

Go to Integrations and connect your Jira workspace. Mid-Manager uses OAuth — you authorize read access to your Jira project metadata. Sprint status, ticket state, assignees, and velocity are ingested automatically.

Tip: Mid-Manager only reads metadata. Your source code is never accessed or modified.

03

Add your direct reports

Go to My Team and invite your direct reports by email. Each person gets a role-aware view: managers see signals and actions; team members see their goals and 1:1 history. HR and admin roles see wider org data.

Tip: Start with just yourself and one or two reports. You can expand later.

04

Open Today — your daily starting point

Today is where you begin every workday. The Focus Engine surfaces up to three priority cards ranked by impact and urgency. Each card tells you: what the signal is, why it surfaced, and the one action to take. No digging through dashboards.

Tip: The first card is always the highest priority. Resolve it and move to the second — you've already led well today.

05

Check Team Actions

Team Actions (Inbox) shows you action items and follow-ups from 1:1s, goal check-ins, and delivery signals. Think of it as your management to-do list — populated automatically from the work you and your team are already doing.

Tip: Aim to clear Team Actions once a day. Items that can't be resolved today can be snoozed or delegated.

06

Build your daily routine

The pattern that works: open Mid-Manager first thing in the morning. Check Today (three cards max). Check Team Actions. That's it. You've covered what matters without context-switching through five tools.

Tip: Block 10 minutes at the start of your day. Within two weeks this becomes instinct.
